The Naturfreibad Haunstetten is an artificially designed bathing lake in the south of Augsburg with a water surface of 9,200 m² and a maximum depth of four meters. After the regeneration of 1,5 hectares of green space surrounding the lake, the baths were reopened in 2010 (Ref. 1).

Signatures for the preservation of the baths were collected and the Förderkreis der Wasserwacht e. V., together with an independent landscape architect, developed a concept for the rehabilitation and reopening up to the beginning of the bathing season (Ref. 1). Since 2011 the association Naturfreibad Haunstetten e.V. operates the bathing lake (Ref. 2).

Due to the poor financial situation in the city, only 35,000 euros were spent on the maintenance and repairs of all Augsburg baths, including Natural Baths Haunstetten (Ref. 1). Ultimately, with the help of donations and the use of voluntary helpers under the leadership of the funding circle, the revitalization could be conducted (Ref. 1).

All bathers who are not members must leave their contact details at the cash desk. You can print out the form in advance and bring it with you when you visit. Special precautionary measures apply to the outdoor swimming pool , which are summarized as follows:
The number of bathers present at the same time is limited.
Always keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters in water and on land (exception: for people for whom the general contact restriction does not apply in relation to one another).
Wait in tight spots until people present have left.
Wear a mask in the entrance area, in the kiosk area and in the toilet rooms .
Entrance for children under 12 years of age only with an adult accompanying person at the cash desk (entrance for children under 12 years of age is only possible at the turnstile if the accompanying person belongs to the same family membership and the adult walks through the turnstile first.)
Cleaning hands with soap and water.

People who have been in contact with COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days.
