Water savings (Ref 1 and 3).
Which of the involved actors was motivated by this model?
Type of innovation
Please specify technological innovation
The F+P system of installation, developed by the company, uses a strong metal structure on which are installed the impermeable panels. In these panels, a combination of filters specially designed for the sturdiness of roots and the circulation of water. This type of installation makes it possible to remove a singular plant without affecting the overall garden. The weight of the overall of the verall system, planted and watered is 35kg/m2. (ref 3)
Please specify novelty level of the innovation
The company draws from its experience and that of collaborating companies when designed a new installation. However, it adapts the installation to that specific space. (ref 2)
Please specify Replicability/Transferability
Experience shared and design transferred when company completes other types of F+P installations, and during the courses it organizes. (ref 2 and 3)
Impacts, benefits
Please specify other economic impact
Cost savings
Description of environmental benefits
There are water savings due to the hydroponic system and improvement in the air quality. Also, the plants balance the temperature (Ref 1 and 3), and create enough oxygen for a year for a person. This is calculated per square meter planted (Ref 1).
Economic impacts
Description of economic benefits
The construction of the garden saves time and money due to air conditioning, and lack of gardening needed (Ref 3).
Description of social and cultural benefits
The green wall adds value to the building due to aesthetics, it camouflages the properties which are broken or that have low aesthetics (Ref 3). Also, the garden saves space and increases appreciation to green spaces, while giving dynamism to the office. Moreover, the courses given by the company provide environmental education for interior vertical gardens (Ref 1 and 3).
Type of reported impacts
Indicators
-A building of 4 floors (60m2) with a facade. (Ref 4).
-System filters of 40 tons of harmful gases per year (Ref 4).
-Reduction of noise pollution by up to 10 decibels (Ref 4)
