Sustainability challenge(s) addressed
Climate change adaptation: What were the goals of the NBS?
Climate change adaptation: What activities are implemented to realize the conservation goals and targets?
Implementation activities
2015- 110m2 installed: “
In order to run the garden we had to design, manufacture and install a support structure that separated it about 90cm from the wall, in order to save the lower aisle”
2016- the surface area will grow to 220m2 and 6000 plants when the hotel renovations are finished. (ref 1)
Introduce adaptive and resistant plants to the garden (Ref 1).

5. Innovation
Type of innovation
Please specify technological innovation
The intervention is innovative in its design that complements its surroundings, as is illustrated by the planning company, “[t]he design that was used for this vertical garden in Palma de Mallorca was based on simple, straight lines that accompany the rest of the hotel facade, very linear. In this way, by following the linear design of the hotel and being able to break it organically with the growth of the masses of plants, we have integrated the vegetation in the facade in a very interesting way.” (ref 1)
Novelty level of the innovation
Please specify novelty level of the innovation
The company SingularGreen specializes in green installations and links the experiences of different landscape companies when teaching courses about vertical gardening. At the same time, the garden was developed specifically for the hotel façade, following the simple lines of design. (ref 1)
Replicability/Transferability
Please specify Replicability/Transferability
The specific garden design has not been identically replicated but the technology and structure used for it are part of the company's approach. (ref 1 and 2)
