The project focuses on a total re-qualification of the coastal area of Ostia. The project involves the construction of new residential areas, recreational areas, a new green park and the recovery of the sand dunes (1).
Regarding the implementation of the project, the project was halted as the public administration changed with new elections, in 2015 several people were arrested and are facing charges due to poor project management (5).

The project was halted almost immediately as the public administration changed with new elections, in 2013 a movie called "Suburbia" came out denouncing the flow of illegal money that was going through the financing of the project and in 2015 several people were arrested and are facing charges of being involved in criminal activities regarding the management of the project (5). I could not find further information after 2015.

Update 2020: It seems that annually there are summer schools to help decide the future of the shores of Ostia, however there isn't information re the project itself so I wasn't able to find if the NBS is still on going or it has been cancelled (https://www.ilfaroonline.it/2019/11/27/ostia-architetti-a-confronto-per-ridisegnare-il-lungomare-e-immaginare-spiagge-libere-piu-belle/305922/)
