The neighbours of the Fuensanta in Cordoba recovered an abandoned public plot of the old Fuensanta’s cinema transforming it into a social and ecological vegetable garden (Ref 1), occasionally used to play soccer and used as a dog park previously (Ref. 3). "All the activities were free of charge, coordinated by volunteers and consisted of: a walk around the neighbourhood, a building recycled furniture workshop, an urban vegetable gardens workshop and urbanism for children workshop. All of them took place in the plot and the creation of a vegetable garden was the most popular activity." (Ref 1)

"In October 2012, #UrbanismoDeBarrio together with the neighbours decided to independently recover the public plot of the old Fuensanta’s cinema and transform it into Fuensanta’s vegetable garden. In spring 2013, a crowdfunding campaign in Goteo.org was iniciated to obtain the necessary resources to ensure the project’s continuity."(Ref 1)

Section 4: Enablers "Concept": On previous NBS interventions regarding urban parks, the city has intentionally implemented community gardens in their newest parks (Parque de la Asomadilla and Miraflores Parque) and the city is part of the organization of workshops (in the urban parks). Therefore, the city may have some strategy to develop community gardens and urban gardening in the city.
