The plans for the M&S in Newcastle are a part of Marks and Spencer's way of achieving their Plan A (Marks & Spencer’s ambitious sustainability program) 2020 energy efficiency targets. Plan A was launched in 2007 with strategic and far-reaching goals (including 100 commitments under five pillars; climate change, waste, sustainable raw materials, fair partnership and health). - a heat reclaim system that will improve energy efficiency and customer comfort
- intelligent door sensors and LED fridge lighting to improve M&S Newcastle's energy efficiency by 20% (1)
